LDS converts – how many times did you feel the Holy Spirit…
… before you encountered the restored Gospel?
I’ve always wondered this, because (a) I’ve always been a member, and can’t remember not having the Spirit with me (except when I’ve done the wrong thing), and (b) when I ask this question of non-LDS people, I can never be sure if they understand what I am talking about when I say “feel the Holy Spirit”.
So, what I want to know is, did you get glimpses of the Spirit before you met the missionaries, but found a great increase when you joined the church? Or did you always feel the Spirit? What I am trying to understand is, does the Gift of the Holy Ghost, given to us by priesthood authority at baptism, give a greater spiritual light than is possible before receiving this gift from God? ie… what spiritual experiences were you able to have before you found the true Church of Jesus Christ?
I feel the holy ghost all the time but when I joined the church at the age of 12 I didnt feel it until I got my own testimony at the age of 16.
